Action!

“Lights! Camera! Action!” I know, you are not making a movie and really, isn’t this what we need to do? Shine a light on our goals, create a plan/vision and then act. It sounds  simple and there are steps to followlights camera.

If you have created your Vision Board, the next step is to really look at it. Notice what pictures you placed and how many there were for certain areas of your life. For example, my Vision Boards usually have pictures of people exercising and  lots of pictures of healthy foods, so it is no surprise to know that living a healthy life is one of my priorities.

Having determined the area that you are most focused on, you need to go on to making a plan with clear steps and deadlines. If, for example, you want to start an exercise program then the steps might look like this:

1. Ask yourself what type of exercise you most like, or if you really dislike exercise, what one do you least hate?

2. Depending on your age and health you may need to check with your family doctor before you begin your program.

3. Check to see if you have the right clothes, shoes and equipment. Also check to see costs and hours of operation if you are proposing to join a gym.

4. Set a start date and if you can, recruit a buddy. If you have a commitment to meet someone ,then you are more likely to go forward with your goal.

5. Begin easy. My Doctor says I need 30 min of exercise every day. I am starting with 20 minutes three times a week.

6. Set a review date – what have you done, do you need to up the ante? The object in this case is to be engaged in healthy exercise not hurt yourself by overdoing it.

7.  Set a time or event to congratulate and reward yourself for what you are doing and will continue to do.

Congratulations! You are on  your way to a healthy exercise program. Variations of these steps will apply to most goals you have set for yourself.go
