Year End – The Beginning

By Lynne Brown | December 1, 2017

Here we are, it’s the last month of the year. Time to review and plan. I’m aways surprised at how often people set New Year’s resolutions and never take time to review what happened and what didn’t happen in the current year. Given that it’s difficult to make new plans if you don’t know where…

Let’s Talk: about words

By Lynne Brown | September 26, 2017

Let’s talk about words. Words? Yes, words. Why? Because words are the core of our existence. We use words to communicate with others and to communicate with ourselves.   When we look at a clock, it is likely we are saying the time to ourselves. When we look at our baby peacefully sleeping, it…

Resistance

By Lynne Brown | August 10, 2017

You know what I mean, resistance. Sometimes, I feel like I’m facing the Borg and hearing “Resistance is futile” It is true, yet it happens and when you have a big decision to make, resisting doing it can seem like a good idea. Stuck

By Lynne Brown | August 1, 2017

Stuck often happens to us when there is a decision to make. Do I do this or that, go or stay, say yes or no or maybe? Then comes the internal dialogue and it’s probably not going to be useful. Year End – Work

By Lynne Brown | December 2, 2013

It’s year end and we are looking at work – love it or hate it, work is usually a big part of our lives. Unless you are independently wealthy, chances are you work to earn a living. It is work which pays for your necessities and maybe a couple of extras. When I think of…

Journal Writing – Being Blocked

By Lynne Brown | November 28, 2013

Writing in your journal is like any other writing because you can get blocked. Either you can’t motivate yourself to put pen to paper or when you do nothing comes. You tap your pen, you doodle, you stare into space and not one word gets written. Then you get frustrated and its downhill from there.…

Journal Writing – Resources

By Lynne Brown | November 22, 2013

This is the last blog in the series. It’s been fun to write and share information on something I have been doing since Grade 8, which was some time ago. Following is a list of books I have read, worked through and kept in my library. “One To One Self Understanding Through Journaling” by Christina…

Journal Writing – Techniques

By Lynne Brown | November 20, 2013

There are so many choices and techniques for writing in a journal that I am not sure where to start. The technique most people are familiar with is what I call the brain dump or free writing. It is a case of picking up pen or putting hands to keyboard and just letting everything on…
