Resistance

You know what I mean, resistance. Sometimes, I feel like I’m facing the Borg and hearing “Resistance is futile” It is true, yet it happens and when you have a big decision to make, resisting doing it can seem like a good idea. Now, we know it’s not, and that’s the beauty of resistance, it makes bad ideas look good.

For example I was supposed to write this blog post yesterday, and resistance was my first and last name. So instead of writing the post, this is what I did:

  • Made the bed
  • Cleaned the bathroom
  • Put a load of wash on,
  • Had a shower.
  • Had 3 naps
  • Ate junk food

And the whole time I was doing that the blog post sat at the back of my brain nagging like a toothache. There is a saying that what we resist persists and it was certainly true for me and the blog. Now, that I am writing , I feel good and bonus – resistance gave me the idea for the post.

I’m pretty sure it’s not just true for me. I think many of us face things we don’t want to do and we find a multitude of ways to avoid doing, to avoid making that decision. The trouble is, at some point that delay will come back to bite us.

In my case, I write blogs to provide information and to attract people to my website and business. No blog equals to visitors who may be potential clients.

So the question is, what is the pay off for resisting the decision and is it worth is in the long run?
