What Shall I write #2

What shall I write, the second edition.

This blog considers other types of journal writing you may want to consider, in addition to the ones in the previous post.

First, dream journals.

Many people record their dreams looking for recurring images or messages from their unconscious. It’s another way of keeping track of your life.

Second, spiritual journals.

Some people keep prayer journals to record their prayers and any outcomes they believe are related to the prayer.

Others, are seekers looking for a spirituality that fits and they record their explorations. People on the Wiccan path often record spells and rituals and other aspects of their faith.

In each case, the recording provides a place to see what decisions have been made and what path to follow.

Couples journals are the third type.

These are quite interesting as they are kept by both parties in a relationship. They are a way to make sense of what is going on between the two of them. And provide a history for that moment when there is disagreement about a decision. It is unfair to use this journal as a way to attack your partner, that’s being mean.

Fourth, gardening journals.

There are themed books out there for you to fill in. However, you can create your own. These journals usually consist of records of plantings, successes and failures and of course the weather. As a gardener you can go back and see what you cultivated and if it is a good idea to continue with it.

Fifth, creative journals

These are journals intended to record those creative moments in your life. As a writer, you might record snippets of conversations overheard in the coffee shop. As an artist, you may see an image you want to come back to and record. This kind of journal is usually a small one carried with you as you go about our daily business.

These are only a few of a multitude ways to keep a journal. In every case, the recording of thoughts will assist you with decisions to be made.

Decisions can be challenging, having a base to draw information from, can make it easier.
